| Clan: Hōzuki Kekkei Genkai: Hydrification Elements: Suiton as Primary Specialization: Ninjutsu Location: Kirigakure Clan History: The Hōzuki Clan (鬼灯一族, Hōzuki Ichizoku) is a group of ninja that settled in Kirigakure after the ending of the Warring States Period and since then have become one of the five core clans of the Village Hidden in the Mist along with the Hoshigake, Osada, Kaguya, and the Yuki clans. Their unique ability to turn themselves into a liquefied state, surrounded by the constant sourse of mist to keep the ninja hydrated allowed the Hōzuki Clan to supplement their powerful clan abilities and truly make a name for themselves as potent ninja of the mist, solidifying their positions as spies, medics, scouts and many other roles within the ninjas' borders. Several famous members of the Clan have been immortalized in Kirigakure history, like Suigetsu, who wielded the legendary executioners sword, one of the nations' seven swords, though having taken it from the body of its previous owner, as a swordsman, his name too became legend. But his legend paled in comparison to his brother Mangetsu, legendary swordsman of the mist, Mangetsu used ALL of the lands legendary seven swords in his time as one of the countries official sevens swordsmen, including the notoriously picky and living Samehada... Finally, and most famous of them all, was the Second Mizukage of the Village hidden in the Mist Gengetsu Hōzuki, a master of Genjutsu techniques, he was one of the most powerful ninja to have ever walked the earth, and able to single handedly stave off armies unbeaten with his techniques, even while attempting to give his opponents the knowledge and means to defeat him. All in all the Hōzuki Clan have earned their rightful place in Kirigakure's history as some of the strongest and most durable ninja in the world. Kekkei Genkai Description: Members of the Hōzuki clan are able to use the Hydrification Technique, which allows a Hōzuki member to turn portions of, or their entire body into a liquefied or semi-solid state of pure chakra enhanced water. In this state they cannot take physical damage, can pass their entire body through small cracks or holes in a wall, and set up surprise attacks in or around water with astounding results. In addition, this Technique is the founding technique for several other techniques the clan is capable of using including Water Gun Technique and Water Release: Great Water Arm Technique which all act under the umbrella of Hydrification Technique. Limbs or body-mass removed from a Hōzuki Clan member, maintains the state of its gel-like liquefied form. This means the Hōzuki is able to recollect loss mass or limbs through physical contact while in use of the Hydrification Technique, recombining with the mass though taking a full post to restore the wound or limb to its rightful shape and position. Naturally, lost mass scattered far and wide being far more difficult to recover than a simple dismemberment, usually requiring jutsu to recover. Drawbacks: As members of the Hōzuki clan are so aligned with their Suiton charged blood that they can themselves turn into pure water, they must remain hydrated at all times. Hōzuki clan members have a hydration count, which they must keep track of like chakra. Each Hōzuki has a hydration score of 25 at Genin, gaining 5 more with every rank-up. [50 at SS Rank] Use of clan techniques [not general Suiton techniques] will dehydrate the members of this clan, causing them to require re-hydration. The amount of dehydration delivered by these Hōzuki clan moves are specified in their descriptions, and any custom Hōzuki clan moves must specify this info. Hōzuki clan members can re-hydrate by drinking from a water bottle [must be apped as an E-rank item] or from ambient moisture [mist] / puddles etc which restores 3 hydration points per post while in contact. If completely submerged in water however, a Hōzuki will regain 5 hydration points within that post. When a Hōzuki is dehydrated [5 or fewer hydration points] they become unable to use Hydration techniques due to their inability to. While Dehydrated, Hōzuki Clan members receive -1 Tier to Speed and Reaction Time. Finally, use of, or being hit by Katon techniques, although dealing -1 rank of damage to Hozuki on hit [due to the reactive nature of the Hydration technique] serve to dehydrate Hozuki on contact by an amount based on the rank of the Katon technique used. [D-Rank] - Reduces Hydration by - 3. [C-Rank] - Reduces Hydration by - 5. [B-Rank] - Reduces Hydration by -10. [A-Rank] - Reduces Hydration by -15. [S-Rank] - Reduces Hydration by -20. [SS-Rank] - Complete Evaporation, Reduces Hydration to 0. Members: Daiko Hōzuki [A-Rank Ronin] Kekkei Genkai Jutsu:- All KKG Jutsu:

Name: Hydrification Technique {水化の術 ~ Suika no Jutsu} Canon/Custom: Canon Rank: Scaled, equal to or less than Ninja Rank (E-A) Type: Defensive/Supplementary Element: Suiton Range: Self Specialty: KKG Duration: 1 or Maintainable Cool-down: None Description: Not a technique as such, but a living part of the Hōzuki Clan's genetic composition which can be activated at will, but also activates re-actively to any damage the user sustains, forcing its use on the Hōzuki consuming their chakra and hydration points against their will. The Hydrification Technique is the Hōzuki Clan’s Kekkei Genkai Technique. This Jutsu allows for the Hōzuki Clan member to liquefy not only their physical form but the clothing, armor and weapons on his or her person. This technique is completed with no hand signs and is only able to be accomplished because of the Hōzuki Clan’s close relationship with the Suiton element. The individual member of the clan can, quite literally, change his or her entire physical composition into a gelatin-like liquid. In this state, the Hōzuki Clan member is capable of slipping through the smallest of cracks in walls and traversing normally-blocked areas with ease.
E Rank: (This rank of The Hydrification Technique, is always considered active.) PASSIVE: When used at this rank, the user can liquefy tiny amounts of their body, roughly the size of the index finger, as well as incredibly simple things to liquefy, namely their hair and fingernails. Costs 1 hydrification point per post used. This level of liquification can be maintained indefinitely without additional chakra usage and activates in response to small damage, such as E rank weapons like Kunai and Shuriken.
D Rank: When activated at this rank, the user can liquefy a surface area roughly the size of their forearm, as well as any armour or equipment that covers that area. This level of liquification can be maintained for 5 chakra every post and 2 hydration points per post. This technique can be used to help resist basic strikes, but has no interaction with jutsu.
C Rank: When used at this rank, the user can liquefy a surface area roughly the size of an arm or leg, as well as any armour or equipment that covers that area. This costs 4 hydrification points. This level of liquification cannot be maintained for longer than 1 post at Genin, but can be maintained normally at Chuunin rank for 5 chakra every post and 3 hydration points per post. This Rank of Hydrification technique activates in response to impact from D rank jutsu, preventing lasting harm to the user.
B Rank: When used at this rank, the user can liquefy a large amount of their body, such as their torso into liquid, as well as any armour or equipment that covers that area. This costs 5 hydrification points and 10 chakra. This level of liquification cannot be maintained for longer than 1 post at Chuunin, but can be maintained normally at Sp.Jounin Rank and above for 5 chakra every post and 4 hydration points per post. This rank of Hydrification technique activates in response to impact from a C rank jutsu, preventing lasting harm to the user.
A Rank: When used at this rank, the entire physical composition of the Hozuki, as well as any armour and equipment they may be wearing will turn into liquid. This costs 6 hydration points and 10 chakra. This level of liquification cannot be maintained for longer than 1 post at Sp.Jounin, but can be maintained normally at Jounin Rank and above for 10 chakra every post and 4 hydration points per post. This rank of Hydrification technique activates in response to impact from a B rank jutsu, preventing lasting damage to the user.
S Rank:When used at this rank, the entire physical composition of the Hozuki, as well as any armour and equipment they may be wearing will turn into liquid. This costs 10 hydration points and 15 chakra. This level of liquification cannot be maintained for longer than 1 post at Jounin, but can be maintained normally at Sannin (S-Rank) and above for 15 chakra every post and 8 hydration points per post. This rank of Hydrification technique activates in response to impact from an A rank jutsu, preventing lasting damage to the user but also allowing them to draw parts of themselves that had been scattered or vapourized back to themselves at 5mp/s to recombine.
Note: Any damage which would cause a Hōzuki Clan member to lose/ sever a limb or mass during Hydrification can be re-attained through the user making contact with the separated liquid, requiring 1 post to recover to its usual form, however, Katon hitting Hydrated areas causes it to evaporate, causing long lasting damage and wounds. This is not permanent however, once the Hozuki stops feeding the fake muscle mass with chakra, it will turn back into water and be reabsorbed into the user's system. For the duration of the technique, the user's arm in question will gain +2 tiers to strength, and therefore damage dealt with physical blows and sword swings. This is maintainable by a cost of 10 chakra per post and 1 Hyrdrification points per post after activation.
